Gillette Design Studio concept emerged as an idea in the summer of 2018 as a result of a daunting task in renovating a rental home that was in much needed repairs. We familiarized ourselves with the documentation necessary to obtain the appropriate permits from the city. On hindsight, going through the maze of the permit process, was easier than spending a fortune in hiring someone to prepare and draw our construction drawings. We decided to prepare our own construction drawings. Well, it worked out. The plans were approved and we were able to get the renovation permitted. Hence, our concept was born. To provide affordable drafting services while sharing useful information. Gillette Design Studio provides affordable architectural drafting and measurement services to homeowners, contractors, architects, engineers, realtors and interior designers. To make a long story longer, I used to be a diesel engine technician. It was a career that I thoroughly loved and enjoyed, but the overall physical fatigue and demands from that line of labor had the potential to limit my future well-being. The decision to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering was a logical solution to replicate this enjoyment from working on engines, but also a decision that would provide better future career opportunities. My academic endeavor was less-than conventional, as I was also responsible for a mortgage and funding my own tuition. Although I am married, I am not the type of individual to rely entirely upon my wife with the burden of financial assistance. An unfortunate result of my stubbornness is the notion of accepting an internship, as it could provide an obvious educational value but lacked necessary financial requirements. My participation in on-campus race car teams provided the perfect opportunity to obtain design experience, and to promote these designs in a competitive environment.

I'm a fresh graduate from Alexandria University with a bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering. I have always been a fast learner with the ability to always come up with new ideas and solutions which drove me to pursue an engineering degree to help change the world into a better place and improve people's lives. I have worked on different projects related to the automotive, robotics, and construction fields. 1- I spent 3 years in an FSAE team from working on the fuel system, becoming the engine sub-team lead to being the chief design engineer of the team, and taking the decision to stop working on IC vehicles and start working on an FSAE EV. 2- Designing and programming a mini palletizing robot for a robotics course and manufacturing it using 3D printing technology. 3- Designing a Bionic arm where I designed and manufactured 2 prototypes using 3D printing technology (prepared the 3D printing files and printed them myself) and collected anthropometric data to support my design decisions. 4- Designing the electrical floor lighting and power plans for an educational building as a part of my Codes and Specifications of Electrical Systems course.
